Modulation of Micronutriens Transporter Activity in Grapevine. Effects on Fruit Development

Objetivo general

To determine the mechanisms that regulates the expression of VvBOR1 and VvZIP3 genes in reproductive tissues of Vitis vinifera cv. Carménère correlating the modulationin gene expression with the accumulation of B and Zn and its effect on fruit development.

Objetivos específicos

1.- To establish the role of MADS transcription factors AG, AP1 and SEP4 in the regulation of the expression of VvBOR1 and VvZIP3 genes by measuring the induction level of reporter gene fused to the promoter regions in transgenic Arabidopsis thaliana plants. 2.- To determine if VvBOR1 and VvZIP3 are target genes of VvMADS1, VAP1 and VVSEP4 the grapevine MADS transcription factors by analyzing their binding ability to therespective target sequences found in the promoter regions of the studied genes. 3.- To assess the role of plant hormones and signaling molecules inthe modulation of VvBOR1 and VvZIP3 expression by evaluating their transcriptional activity in response to exogenous treatment with these compounds. 4.- To evaluate the impact of the induction of VvBOR1 and VvZIP3 expression on the accumulation of B and Zn in reproductive tissues and in the pollen germination, abscission and millerandage rates.
