The project aims to develop culture technologies for the attachment and settlement of carpospores of the edible seaweed Chondracanthus chamissoi in southern Chile.
1.- To increase attachment of carpospores of C. chamissoi to different substrates (materials) in laboratory. 2.- To optimize settlement of spores and growth of germlings in hatchery (greenhouse) conditions. 3.- To developed cultivation technology of C.chamissoi in the sea to harvestable size. 4.- Education program to artisanal fishermen and small aquaculture producers on the cultivation of C. chamissoi. 5.- Technical and Economical feasibility of the culture.
