Estimation of the Quantitative Genetic Variation of Immune Response Traits in the Abalone Haliotis Rufescens and Scallop Argopecten Purpuratus: a Tool for Genetic Improvement Programs

Objetivo general

To estimate the importance of quantitative genetic variation on the immune response variation in Haliotis rufescens and Argopecten purpuratus, and their correlation with survival and growth traits performance, both at phenotypic and genetic level.

Objetivos específicos

1.- To characterize and validate genes of immune response for A. purpuratus and H. rufescens. 2.- To estimate the magnitude of the heritability for immune response traits in A. purpuratus and in H. rufescens juvenile and adult. 3.- To estimate the magnitude of the heritability for growth-associated proteins traits in A. purpuratus and in H. rufescens juvenile and adult. 4.- To estimate the phenotypic and genetic correlations between immune response traits and between these and productive traits and the levels of proteins associated with growth.
